Relationships and marriage are about balance. Couples don’t necessarily need to have the same interests (though it helps), but each partner should complement the other. I think that’s why Kellie and I get along so well despite the glaring differences in our personalities.
When we met, Kellie had not filed a tax return in years, her car, a Geo Storm, was unregistered and uninsured, and her driver's license was expired. As for myself, I was suffering from involuntary celibacy. Clearly, we could each fill the void in the other one's life.
Now that we’re married, she no longer has to worry about the taxes; I do them. Her car, a Lexus SC 430, is registered and insured, and her license is current. Kellie could say, in the words of Jerry Maguire (though she never would), I complete her. I, on the other hand, still have to complete myself.
